Celebrating ConsueloAboutFirst 20 years

A Shower of Roses | Great Love | Renew Hope | Hope is Important
Mindful of the Poor | Celebrating the Finish | The Least of These | New Families

Beyond the physical structures, Ke Aka Ho’ona represents the birth of a very special commitment of families with renewed hope and dignity. It reinforces the Foundation’s belief that beneficiaries be active participants in solutions.

Every year the residents of Ke Aka Ho’ona celebrate Consuelo Zobel Alger’s birthday and give thanks for her dream.

Before she died, Consuelo formed this Foundation, and one among many of her wishes was to give families, who may never have had the chance to do otherwise, to become homeowners.

Over these past nine months, there must have been moments when you had doubts and wondered about your ability to finish what you started out to do. You surely believed in yourself and other team members of your fellow builders and never gave up. You are truly champions.

Bob Tsushima, Consuelo Foundation Board Member, speaking to 17 new homeowners during the blessing of Increment 7 in the year 2000
