We are a private, Hawai‘i-based non-profit operating foundation. We are not a grant-making organization. Our Foundation was established under U.S. law and operates programs either directly with its own staff or by contracting other nonprofit or nongovernment organization in close partnership.

We actively seek out and form partnerships with visionary entrepreneurs already operating promising programs with innovative approaches to the community’s most pressing needs.

Our benefactress Consuelo Zobel Alger left explicit instructions on how she wanted her legacy honored and respected. Most important to her, she did not want the vision and mission of other organizations imposed upon her Foundation.

We don’t solicit contributions for our programs and operations, nor do we consider unsolicited requests for grants from individuals or organizations. We are not government-funded either.

Funding decisions are guided by a strategic plan, thoughtfully adopted by our Board of Directors; responsible for implementing the plan is our CEO. Although they are broad in content, there are specific guidelines and criteria that guide our work.

Ours headquarters is located in Honolulu. The Philippine Branch is managed from the Citibank Building in Makati City, Metro Manila.
