Promote research, evaluation and integration of best and promising practices

 
Program Activities
  • Established the Protective Partner Network in five communities to foster best practices, advocate for necessary services, and identify innovative strategies for the prevention of child absue and neglect.
  • As a result of the work of the best practice roundtable on child abuse and neglect prevention the Hawai‘i Association of Infant Mental Health was formed. For more information of the Association please contact Gail Breakey of the Hawai‘i Family Support Institute.
  • Completed publications
    • Through the Eyes of Children – ‘Hoa Aina O Makaha
      Documents the metaphoric lessons taught at the Makaha farm over the last two decades.
    • Kamalama Parent Education – Neighborhood Place of Wailuku
      • A Train the Trainer manual and accompanying parent resource manual are being completed.
      • 25 Hawai‘i Partner Network members trained
  • Formed evaluation methodology to assess the efficacy of select experiential program models and Consuelo Foundation partner network model
